LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

I recently received a really kind email from someone who had just read The G Club.

The email went on to say how real the locations felt to him, someone who had never been to London.

He asked about the pier used in the book - where significant events happened during Jamie’s and Teresa’s relationship.

The pier is real (as can be seen from the photo) and I used to walk passed it quite a lot and always found it odd to have something like this in the middle of the bustling Southbank.

This area of London is generally busy and a noisy place with people walking, running and performing. If you walk to the end of the pier, you feel you are in the middle of the Thames and the busyness and noise quieten.

I wanted somewhere in the story for Jamie and Teresa to take time from what they were going through and this place seemed perfect.

If you are in London, a walk down the Southbank is a must and if you are looking for the pier…here it is on Google Maps.
